The objective of the StandOut® Metrics Dashboard video was to explain to Human Resources professionals not just how the Metrics Dashboard works – but why it works. The video needed to be memorable so that HR leaders would quickly understand how the Metrics Dashboard measures performance and engagement and be able to convey the benefits to senior leadership.
These objectives were achieved through the art of storytelling, by humanizing the people behind the metrics and by the use of simple, emotive animation. The video starts with a classic storytelling trope, “once upon a time,” and goes on to show why numbers never tell the whole story when it comes to people. Introducing the characters of “Larry” and “Zaleek,” the narrator tells us that “Larry” isn’t a “2” and “Zaleek” isn’t a “4” – they’re both a mixture of different strengths and abilities. StandOut, we learn, empowers team leaders to collect and share more meaningful performance and engagement data more frequently. It goes “beyond numbers and into the real working experience,” which produces better data.
